BREAKING: The Conservative Party is BREAKING, and every Member of the Cabinet shares responsibility for May still being in No.10

Pint Piper of BrexitClutching at straws when it comes to making any sense out of what is happening in politics today has become the preserve of journalists, commentators and the entire opinionati alike.

Yet the reality of this chaotic situation is that nobody seems able to accept the truth that the descent of our democracy into the abyss has been facilitated by self interest at the top of government and that the solution to the problem and the knock-on effects that it is causing is being obstructed by the very same thing.

May cannot and will not now deliver any form of a real Brexit. Every additional day of her premiership is condemning her Party towards its demise and taking the Country ever closer to a less and less reasoned form of politics once the now inevitable Brexit has been completed and is officially over and done.

There simply remains no logic to May remaining in Downing Street, other than for her to string out the length of her tenure to beat the time served by Gordon Brown and for the Cabinet Members around her either to keep their jobs or attempt to ensure that their place at the top table of the next Administration is to their mind completely secure.

These actions are the height of selfishness.

Our Electorate is now actively and progressively dismissing the establishment and our political system. It is being bewitched by the resonating and engaging tunes played by the antithesis of May’s authoritarian approach to imposing a non-Brexit in the form of our very own tweed covered, beer-swilling, Pint Piper of Brexit who is promising the real thing, but along with it much that the Party following behind him is simply not equipped to deliver besides.

Meanwhile, the politicians around this busted flush and happy-to-squat PM, still cling to their jobs like deranged limpets, apparently unaware that they have been, are, and continue to propogate this evolving mess.

Put simply, the implausible now seems very credible in comparison to the lack of interest that the incumbents of Westminster have in the views, feelings and lives of the very people that elected them and put them in office.

The Conservative Party is dying. Everyone can see it from outside, whilst the tragedy which is engulfing what used to be a very serious proposition of a Political Party is going undetected by the MPs, Party Executives and everyone else who remains intimately involved.

The Conservative Party will not survive without an immediate change and installation of new leadership. Leadership that cannot come from within this tainted Cabinet.

It must be leadership with guts, vision and approach to doing government and party business in a way that many, if not all of us have never witnessed before in politics.

This change must represent a way of leading this Country that bears no resemblance to the piss-poor, futile and glory-seeking tenure of Mrs Theresa May.

The Brexit Withdrawal Agreement is a dead man walking, alongside everything that has come from the whole of a non-Brexit Process that has been stewarded under the ‘leadership’ of the outgoing PM.

For the Conservative Party to survive and indeed do its own version of a phoenix or even a lazarus, it has to get restarted, reinvigorated and renewed as quickly as possible.

This restart will not be achieved if it has anything to do with a timetable planned or dictated in anyway by May or the highly questionable ambitions of all those in the Cabinet around her. Politicians who still believe that the future of this Country is in their power to dictate.

It is increasingly likely that May will announce that she is going once the EU Election Results have been announced. She will feel confident that the Conservative Party will insist on seeing through a drawn out Leadership Contest that will delay everything and keep her ‘in power’ until perhaps October.

That is only if she and the ambitions of those around her cannot be tamed and brought back to the real world and the matter immediately resolved.

The dynamics of this Parliament will not allow any leader to deliver a meaningful Brexit.

Yet delivering a meaningful Brexit is the only way that the Electorate will be satisfied and believe that the EU Referendum Result has been acted upon.

A clean Brexit simply cannot be avoided if democracy is to be seen to have been restored to the UK.

This means that the leader who replaces May must be ready to fight a General Election AND win it, with time enough to lay a whole new plan on the EU’s table, before the latest departure deadline has been reached on the 31st of October 2019.

No, it’s not impossible to achieve this, if May is replaced by a real leader, who can see what needs to change with the Conservative Party, within its relationship with the Electorate and with the EU too.

A leader who is ready to push, motivate and inspire everyone to be the change that we are hungry for by delivering the new politics we have asked for via a new and differently formed manifesto.

One that is about an ambition for the future for everyone who shares the UK as a home. Not simply about what is good for those who are positioned to lead.

A void is about to open in British Politics once the European Elections are over. One that could be filled by any one of a number of political solutions.

Yet it is arguably only what remains of the Conservative Party that can stare into the widening abyss right now and accept that it has a directional choice which will either make or break its future. Once its too late, those who have the power to change the Conservative Party right now will not be able to complain that they were not warned, or not told.

The Conservative Party MUST ditch May and the long-list of inept leadership hopefuls in the coming few days.

It MUST replace this regime with a completely new and forward-looking version with a revitalised take on 21st Century Conservatism within hours of her being swept aside.

Otherwise the legacy of May’s ‘hollow politics’ will be manifested within a marxist form of government or whatever is likely to come from the policy-deficient Brexit Party that as a single-issue Party is destined to quickly forget what it was created for.

Options that both have all the makings of being significantly worse for this Country than the dreadful and undemocratic tenure of Theresa May.
