There’s nothing wrong with Boris doing everything necessary to stop undemocratic MPs wrecking our Brexit – so long as he’s not going to do the same thing

Should we be unhappy about Boris doing everything he can to stop Remainer MPs halting Brexit or even rescinding Article 50?

Absolutely not.

After 3 years of obstruction and false narratives based on a convenient form of democracy that only applies when they get the result they want, the Remain majority in Parliament are now reaping what they themselves have sewn.

So if Boris is about to see through the result of the binary choice that was Leave or Remain, he is justified in doing so and can legitimately call upon the support of the Country to see it through.

But if he is about to see through a deal with the EU which in any way ties or obligates the UK to decisions made by it, he will have no legitimacy in doing so and can expect anything but.

What Boris is doing is audacious and for the right reasons is certainly something to be admired.

However, if there is a sell out at any level involved, the behaviour of the new PM will be no better than the MPs who he is now doing everything to preclude.
