Parliament vs The People: The Public’s view of our time that becomes a false narrative the very moment that Boris attempts to make it his own

One of the most telling aspects of our broken political system is the way that Politicians and their Parties have become adept at seizing any phrase or form of words that represents the sum total of how People feel about something. Hollowing it out so that it loses all sense and all meaning. And then ride away on it during a campaign as if it is an idea or way of thinking that they somehow then own.

With issues such as the Climate Crisis, Housing Crisis or anything like that on the domestic issue front, this theft and misuse of public narrative is bad enough.

But when it comes to Our position over the destruction of democracy and the pathway that has led to it via Brexit, Boris’ attempts to steal the narrative ‘Parliament vs The People’ for his own ends is cynical in the extreme.

Whilst Boris has been fashioning himself as the champion of Brexit, his pursuit of a deal with the EU that doesn’t actually deliver it is only the first rip in the cover that exposes all of his positions flaws.

Selling out to achieve a relationship with the EU that by default will always end up being called Brexit, but is actually Remain isn’t the worst offence that Boris’ attempt to self-style himself as being different can actually cause.

The biggest is the fact that he has been, is and will clearly continue to be a BIG part of the  Parliament that has been set against the Will of the People for many years and not just since Brexit – which has only ever been a symptom of the problems that he and others like him have created. Brexit was not the cause.

Boris is the Establishment all over. And whilst he has had a massive opportunity to be and do something very different, like the majority of all the other MPs – who together made up the last Parliament – he has chosen not to be the difference that we have all been waiting for, instead making self-interest and what works best for him at every turn his one and only cause.

The real fight, battle or perhaps what we may come to call the war that is Parliament vs The People hasn’t even rally begun.

The system is so tightly wrapped up to protect and propagate itself that The People don’t even have the opportunity of gaining a foothold against the Establishment monopoly over who gets access to Parliament, which could only come if We had real alternatives to the Parties on offer and with it a much better destination for our Vote.

Until we have this opportunity, the war that is The People vs Parliament will not have started and so there is no way that it can be won.

So for Boris to ride around sounding off that he is the Champion of the People isn’t just disingenuous and manipulative. It’s arguably tantamount to being an outright lie.

No Boris, you won’t need this dodgy deal with a majority in Parliament and it’s only if you drop it that you will get the majority in Parliament that you want

41xgBLGbJtL._SY450_The Tories are already going backwards and it probably won’t be long before there are serious questions heading to CCHQ from Constituencies all over the Country demanding to know what reason the Election was really called for.

The story hiding in plain sight where all of the Political Parties and not least of all the Tories are concerned, is that none of them now have the capacity or substance to create blue water between themselves and any of the others within any policy area other than where Brexit is concerned.

Politics really is broken in this Country and that break has created a great divide.

It is only by delivering the Brexit that We, the British People democratically Voted for that any Party Leader and the Polticial Party they lead can begin the process of healing the split.

Boris deal and what he calls his oven ready Brexit definitely isn’t it.

The odd thing. The peculiar thing. Is that Boris only had any kind of reason to attempt a compromise over what Brexit looked like for as long as what we have been calling the Zombie Parliament was still sitting and preventing him from doing anything.

The General Election Campaign is now underway.

That disastrous, obstructive, un-democratic Parliament no longer exists.

So the reason Boris could previously then argue that he had – which was little more than compromise to appease Remainer MPs – no longer exists. That is unless of course Boris was always set on Remaining in the EU all along. Or that he is perhaps afraid that a majority in Parliament is not in any way achievable.

With a majority in Parliament, the UK can Leave as it always should have done and then create a post-Brexit relationship with the EU that will actually be good for the UK – rather than always in some way ending up as a subservient one.

That’s the deal that We really want.

Boris can only leap in the right direction, that of achieving this – if he drops this disastrous deal which isn’t Brexit.

Boris’ deal is a Trojan Horse arrangement that will end up with the result being BRINO and is as such fundamentally the same thing as Remain.

Now is the right time – in the early stages of this General Election Campaign – to make that change if he genuinely wants the Electorate to come on side.

And if Boris wants to secure the majority that he needs in Parliament this December – like any New Prime Minister seeking to secure a real legacy surely would – there is a fundamental need for him to unite all Brexiteers behind him.

To unite all Brexiteers, Boris will have no option but to bring the Brexit Party on side. He must create an Electoral Pact between the Brexit Party and the Conservative Party that really will get Brexit done.

Otherwise, come Friday 13th December, things will either begin to immediately become exponentially worse as another PM strolls into Downing Street and takes over. Or at very best they will simply Remain the same.

But you never know. Perhaps that was always the real aim of the Boris plan?
