You aren’t going mad. Nothing makes sense to the silent majority either. We are all being gaslighted by those with their hands in the till

As individuals looking out on the world as it is today, it is all too easy to believe that it is only us – and the few people around us we talk to – who see everything that is wrong in the world around us. It is easy to think we are alone when it comes to questioning the narratives and stories of injustice that we continually hear.

What we all need to realise and understand, is this is a very long way from being the case.

It is the way that the world currently works around us that has led to our view of the world and the perceptions that we have of it leading us to see things this way.

We are surrounded by a constant flow of information, coming at us from each and every direction in this information technology age.

Like an abusive partner, It tells us and then repeatedly confirms to us – that the narratives which override our own common sense and what our instincts tell us are what we should believe.

This is how propaganda, false narratives, half truths and outright lies are able to thrive, continue to exist and become the accepted truth.

But Bullshit really does have its own sound.

The sources and perpetrators of the lies that have made life so unbearable for so many, in so many different ways – whilst all the time suggesting that we are alone and the only ones who think that way or even worse  – are in the process of being uncovered and shown to us all for what they really are.

Keep watching, and you will soon see.

Good Politicians MUST be Judged by the results of their actions. NOT by their words, what they appear to do, or how they might look

It is easy to see why Political Parties now fall over themselves to secure Candidates for Elections who already have a name, such as celebrities or people who have for some reason been publicly recognised as a champion of some specific cause or in some other way.

‘They are this’, ‘They are that’, are the words or the thinking that accompanies the thought processes of today’s Politicians and Political Parties when they select and appoint their Candidates – often for ‘Seats’ that they already consider to be theirs to allocate and that they therefore ‘Own’.

What the Political Parties today don’t think or worry about, is what the Politicians they effectively appoint would actually do, or indeed, what they have actually already done.

Words are just words. Whether spoken, written or even typed up or presented to the public through a screen, on a page or through a public meeting somewhere.

If we really want an idea of what any Politician can offer us or what they will bring, we must think differently about the way that they have been appointed, and the pathway that has delivered them into a publicly representative role.

What politicians have already done, rather than what it looks like what they have done or what they or someone else tell us they have done, is the best indication of what they will do.

Real research doesn’t stop at a title or at a headline. It takes time. But when one person must be trusted to think, behave and act Consciously for so many, it is essential that we too made that selection Consciously and being Conscious of all the facts and realities that underpin who they really are. Not how they or anyone else would like us to think.

People will always tell you who they are. They will also do so very quickly, as long as you make the effort to hear as well as listen.

Noise isn’t action. Just because a problem is talked about by Politicians or in the Media, it doesn’t mean anything is being done

Because of the way that media, social media, the internet and the dissemination of information works today, our attention is all too easily distracted and diverted away from many of the things that we should really have much greater care for.

Meanwhile, the way that we have become conditioned to interact with the flow of information coming at us from the world outside of us or outside of our life bubbles also has the ability to additional weight to events and to the influence of celebrity and people with public platforms in a disproportionate and therefore highly misleading way.

Regrettably, this has become an ingrained cultural problem to the point where many people believe that it is normal.

In respect of the issues that we really should be considering as important to us personally as well as communally, the result is that unless we are actually looking properly and not taking everything as read or at face value, we are missing the news, or when it reaches us, it comes with a wrapping of opinion that far exceeds its genuine value.

Unfortunately, we easily fall into the trap of believing that what we don’t hear about or what we don’t see doesn’t matter, and take for granted that when we do hear about anything, the fact that the information has come to us in some way means that solutions are already being found and that whatever is necessary is already being done.

Sadly, for all of us, this simply isn’t the case.

If the Great Reset is already happening, why can’t I see it?

There are a lot of very big political, business and financial interests who believe that they have a massive amount to lose if the system that’s already in free-fall around us, does reach the point of a completely non-functioning crash.

This is why politicians, the media and all of the big interests that are behind them are doing so much to avoid changing the narrative, saying anything or even doing anything that suggests that a systemic collapse is now under way.

To speak of it would be to admit to it or acknowledge that the collapse – which makes The Great Reset necessary – is underway.

By doing so, they would ultimately be admitting that they all have responsibility for everything that is now going to unfold.

If you continue to listen to all the messaging that comes from politicians, big business, and the media, you are likely to suffer a lot more than any of them will, when part or all of the collapse finally steps right into your life.

These interests are very powerful. That is why things seem to be ok for many of us right now, because they are doing all that they can to keep the plates spinning.

The intention is that they will be able to weather what they hope is just a storm and then put everything back to where they want. They intend to continue doing it quietly and without too many of us being aware of what they are doing behind the scenes.

For the purposes of clarity here, behind the scenes really means the truth, rather than what we actually believe. Because the signs that the collapse is happening – like the cost-of-living crisis – are happening right now, but because they haven’t directly touched us yet, we don’t believe there’s anything to fear – and the collapse is as such being successfully hidden in plain sight.

Levelling Level | The role of the Media in our new world

Whilst many question the validity of the mainstream media today, very few really question or analyse what our mainstream news mediums really do and how they actually work.

As with the case with money, or the new unit(s) of exchange as we go forward, the great correction will define that media sources with influence must tell the truth and therefore be a medium that the public can trust.

We are already at saturation point when it comes to other people’s narratives, and we are desperate to hear leaders and influencers speaking the truth, demonstrating that they are sources that we can trust.

The Establishment is pulling out all the stops to maintain the narrative that everything is fine

In the Terence Trent D’arby (Sananda Maitreya) song ‘If you all get to Heaven’, sits the immortal line ‘Old men’s cigars puff up the wars to protect their fuck ups again’.

Whilst one of the alternative truths growing considerable traction in recent years has been that the United States has in effect created wars around the globe, simply so that the corporate interests that fund the politicians can keep profiting, the reality is that war has been used as a very costly distraction and as a way of taking attention away from the public, from what is really going on around us all at home.

As I write this in early 2022, Russia has just invaded Ukraine. It is already clear that Western Governments are going to use the crisis as a way to cover up the damage that they are responsible for. Prolonged mismanagement that has led to all the problems that we are facing now.

When people at the top have gained so much through a system that exists on the basis that it exploits the greater part of the population without them realising that they are being used, it is in the interests of those people at the top to ensure that the  truth never comes out a) so that they don’t get blamed when it fails and b) so that no one will attempt to stop them doing all that they can to return the whole system to how it previously worked – even when they are too stupid to realise that it is now impossible to do.

A new age based on speaking the truth

Whilst there are many problems that are being caused by the impact and reach of social media, the availability of information and the evolution of how it is affecting life is a process that politicians are unable to control.

The example of Vladimir Putin’s attempts to tell the West that the bombing of Ukraine was fake news being the case in point.

No matter how hard any controlling politician tries, they will not prevent the dissemination of information within audiences that they wish to control.

Ironically, whilst fake news – or what in mainstream media terms is the publishing of opinion that we are then told is news – is causing governments around the world all sorts of problems, the end destination of what we are witnessing will be a new reality for truth and openness. One where leaders will only be able to function by telling is the truth, as the sheer weight of numbers of information sources will make it impossible for them to do otherwise.

Opinion, Fake News, Spin and the role of the Media

The incompetence of our politicians would not have been the success that it has been, without the media having had the role it has and having been there to tell us that it is so.

So little of the news that we see and hear on so-called mainstream channels and stations is actually news, that propaganda should really be switched with news as the recognisable term for all that well known current-affairs mediums actually do.

Whether it is the agendas of the owners or political masters of the channels and platforms that set directional agendas, or just the personal motives and the experience of life that drives then journalists and presenters themselves, the reality that we face is that opinion and news have long since become a wholly interchangeable term.

The irony is that the opinion which is probably as much as 90% if not more of what the content of mainstream news and current affairs commentary really now consists of, is in reality a sanctioned or legitimised flow of fake news.

The only thing that makes mainstream sources any different to the content which comes from YouTubers, TikTokkers and social media commentators who are attempting to share helpful programming – other than the fact that the 10% news is even less that the alternative – is the fact that the programming is seen as reliable BECAUSE it is the mainstream.

Is this the zombie apocalypse in reverse?

img_5754

Have you ever thought that the characters that find their way into our imaginations through films and storybooks are metaphors for the way certain people behave around us in real life?

Just as you are told you should never invite a Vampire into your home because it will enter and feed off your blood, you should always keep very negative people out of your day-to-day lives as familiarity with them can soon lead to them sucking away your will to live!

The really funny thing about the negative people I am talking about here, is that very few of them – when challenged and questioned about their behaviour –  will have any conscious understanding of how they behave, nor the impact upon others from what they do. The suggestion that some people are happy in their own misery is very true.

So does the same rule apply to other behaviours in other people and the ones that we ourselves exhibit or project outwards towards the world outside of us and towards everyone else?

Yes. And we certainly don’t know we are doing it most of the time when we are, because it’s the way that we have been conditioned to think!

So what has this got to do with the so-called ‘zombie apocalypse’ you might ask.

Well, the reason I decided to write about this today was the experience that I have been having since the Lockdown began, whenever I have had the opportunity to talk to other people either online, on the phone or at 2 metres beyond arms length.

The conversations have all been similar. Whether it has been the owner of a business employing 750 people, a neighbour or one of the floor managers at the local Tesco I often say hello to as I pass them by.

What I have learned is that what we all have in common is that we see Coronavirus and the impact of the Lockdown on our lives very differently to how it is being talked about, discussed and presented to us with images on TV and by the media. But there is also a compelling feeling that for the time being at least we have to go along with all the fuss about the NHS and the social distancing measures in some way – even though we are worried – if not already being hurt by what is happening. We certainly don’t believe that things can begin to get better before they have got a whole lot worse.

It seems to be the case that the Government and the media have become so good at creating a particular view or version of events, we really do fall into the trap of believing that what happens on TV is a real representation of what is happening to everyone in the world outside of our own families and homes. We really think that what we are experiencing personally or to those immediately around us is something that is only happening to us or is a feeling about everything that relates only to our own point of view.

We are all falling victim to group think and behaving like zombies in some way today, simply because we have learned to accept and respect whatever the media and the government throws at us as if it is the only reliable truth. So much so in fact, we even end up questioning ourselves!

The big problem for us all is the messages we accept as being 100% real about the world outside our door, about what is happening and about what everyone is doing are all contrived. They are a construct. A tall story. A script that becomes our reality just because we have always believed that we have to play along.

But we don’t.

When the Government and the media are actually getting a lot of their response to the COVID-19 emergency not only wrong, but very wrong indeed, we should perhaps all begin to question whether we are listening to the right sources of information for guidance.

We should be asking ourselves whether our gut feelings, our intuition or what the quiet and un-emotive voice in our heads is telling us about all that we are experiencing is actually right and much nearer to what everyone else is thinking and feeling about all of this than what the establishment would like us all to believe.

The Crisis that the Government is creating for us all as an avoidable response to a national emergency that would have only ever really hurt a comparative few, will touch us all very soon. That is if it hasn’t already done so for you yet.

When the time comes that we each realise just how hard things are now going to be for the foreseeable future, whether its because we have lost income, lost our job, lost our home, lost our business or lost something else that is important to our quality of life that we wouldn’t have lost if the Government had created the Lockdown, it is important to know that none of us is left thinking or believing that we are alone.

We are not.

The stories that the media and the politicians might be telling us will make it sound like everyone else is seeing things in a different way. But they aren’t right now and they won’t be then.

Instead of being turned into zombies by a virus like the ones we heard about in a storybook or on a film, this could be the reality where it all goes a different way.

Coronavirus and the Government’s response could well be the catalyst that flips us all into becoming part of a Country-sized national community where Government works openly for us all rather than being the false democracy that it is today, where the establishment manipulates the many for the benefit of only a few.

It could be the zombie apocalypse in reverse!

The Johnson Government will not be forgiven for harm it has caused us that it had the option to avoid

The sunlight is now breaking on the damage that this Government has done.

Despite the protestations of the 1922 committee in recent days that many businesses are not going to survive, the Lockdown still continues as if the only game in town is those who are suffering with COVID-19 related illness and there is absolutely nothing else involved.

Whilst it will be foolish to try and blame the Government for the COVID-19 outbreak itself, the way that our Politicians have managed and continue to manage the emergency is a very different story and one that we will all become very concerned with in the coming weeks if we have not done so already.

Many suspect that things aren’t right. Other’s, that things don’t add up. Some already know that what the Government is doing is wrong.

When the questions start, these are the points where they are likely to begin:

Taking the Media’s lead

Whilst we can all see how difficult the media age has made it for almost everyone with the creation of the court of public opinion, we go to the polling booths at a General Election with the understanding that those who have put themselves foreword to represent the interests of perhaps 75,000 people in their own Constituency and many more if they accede to a role beyond that of just being an MP, will be discerning enough not to have their views and decisions swayed by those who make the most noise.

There is simply no doubt that many of the key decisions taken in the run up to the imposition of the Lockdown on 23rdMarch 2020 were heavily influenced by the noise that the media was making, which is driven by the most negativity that it can generate at best.

The weakness in leadership that the Government has shown by being led by the tone and approach of the media, at the most critical point of a national emergency when highly consequential decisions were made, has resulted in the UK being pushed into a dire situation that is set to get much worse – not because of the Coronavirus – but because of the impact of the decisions that were made in response.

Misuse of behavioural insights to ‘brainwash’ the population

Over recent years, the pseudo-science known as behavioural insights has become a population control tool actively used by Government at both National and Local Level, primarily through the use of messaging or marketing that encourages people to change their behavior in some way, usually without them realising what has been done.

Whilst this so-called science can be used to influence behaviour for the common good, it can also too easily be misused for non-direct aims and in the same way as decisions should be made on the basis of the immediate here and now, using behavioral insights with a view to doing something because you can whilst you have something else in mind means that those driving its use are likely to lose control of the result.

By creating the ‘stay at home’, ‘protect the NHS’, ‘social distancing’ mantras, the Government bought the participation of the masses in the dubious Lockdown by installing a level of fear of dying from Coronavirus for many of us like it has been installed like a programme.

What they have done is no better than brainwashing or mass manipulation – as illustrated best by the 8pm call to clap for the NHS on Thursday evenings and rainbow posters being put up everywhere like it’s the only fashionable thing, and that it would be somehow wrong for any of us not to be involved.

However, whilst many still think this all to be a good thing, the approach taken has been akin to letting a genie out of the bottle with the Government playing the role of an Aladdin that has no real concept of the trouble that it has made.

People may have accepted the unnecessary Lockdown on the basis of the manipulation as being the only way to deal with the COVID-19 emergency. But their reciprocation in going back to work as if the whole thing was done with an on/off switch will prove to be a very different thing.

It is highly irresponsible for a Government of a democratic country to deliberately influence people in this way.

In the coming weeks and months we will see the price that has to be paid.

A Lockdown that has caused many more problems than it could ever solve

So much has the Government and the Establishment bought into its own hype over the Lockdown and what it was important to do, the very people who should know better in an emergency have overlooked all of the out of sight things that needed to be considered as they rushed to show the media and the world around them what they were going to do.

On the face of it the Lockdown seemed like the ideal way to stop the spread of COVID-19.

The problem is that the spread of COVID-19 was not then, has not been since and never really will be the problem that needed to be the number one priority itself.

Responding to it in the way that the Government has done so has created a growing number of developing and already substantial problems that are far more serious than the Coronavirus emergency and are going to be very difficult to fix – especially if we still have the creators of that problem left in charge and running the Country.

  • Job losses
  • Business closures
  • Businesses becoming unviable
  • Shops refusing to take cash
  • Evictions
  • Debt
  • Depression
  • Suicides
  • Abuse
  • Safeguarding Issues

– are all issues amongst many more that are growing disproportionately in number as a direct result of the Lockdown, and would have been avoidable if the Government had not implemented the Lockdown by choice.

Financial ‘Support’ given in response to the Lockdown rather than imposing a corresponding Lockdown of the Economy

The severity of the impact and the consequences of the Lockdown would have been completely different and arguably negligible if the Government had chosen to address the impact of the Lockdown on Businesses and workers who lost income – no matter their tax or employment status – by taking a blanket approach to all.

Instead of dolling out cash from the ‘magic money tree’ that the Conservatives have so mercilessly attacked the Labour Party over for years whilst stating that it doesn’t exist, the Government should have locked down the economic system for all those people and businesses who suddenly found themselves unable to earn as a result of the Lockdown and removed the need for them to pay any bills for goods or services that they have not ordered during the Lockdown itself.

As a temporary measure, this would have been the surest way to help and to be fair to everyone from the top to the bottom of the economy, whether they are a billionaire or they are unemployed.

Nobody would have had to pay the bills it would have been right to stop. So the only money that anyone would have needed help to find would have been for the basic necessities such as food and essentials each week.

Paying out something like £100 per week per person who had lost their income and for their dependents too would have cost the UK Taxpayer significantly less than the sums that have already been spent on a series of loans, grants and wage subsidies which hasn’t reached everyone and has left substantial gaps in the provision it was supposed to provide.

Businesses that couldn’t operate wouldn’t have had bills to service whilst they had no income and could have effectively been mothballed until life was ready to resume. The jobs they provide would then have still existed for all the many thousands of people who are now likely to have none to return to.

Some will argue that what the Government has done has literally been the way of the world in responding to the COVID-19 Pandemic in the way that it has. But that doesn’t make it right.

If anything, it demonstrates just how dangerous the mindset and culture of national leadership across the 21st Century World has become when so-called leaders are too afraid to overrule economists and bankers because they are more concerned with the risk to themselves than the impact of getting it all so very wrong on the people they are there to represent.

After the impact of the mismanagement of the 2008 Financial Crisis when politicians lived up to the lie that the banks were too big to fail and then saddled the UK with unnecessary debt whilst the bankers took bonuses and were allowed to roll on like nothing had gone wrong, the stupidity of this Government in printing money to solve a problem like this that could have been solved differently is not just going to go away.

The Government has committed us to a level of debt that will hurt us all first through the damage they have done to the National Economy. It will then trickle down and hurt us all directly through the loss of our jobs and an even greater dependence upon personal debt when we cannot afford the debt and commitments that we already have.

The only way that the Government of the UK and possibly all Governments of the World will be able to address the mess that has been created will be at the very least to go through a process of significant debt forgiveness. Alternatively, they will have to conduct a complete reset of our economic system and revise the way that money is made so that basic living is something that an average wage earner and someone on benefits can actually afford, and money is available where and when it is really needed, rather than automatically flowing back to the pigs with their heads in the trough where it starts.

Straightforward as it might sound, if these problems were to be left in the hands of the clowns that got us to where we are now in the first place, it would make it all but inevitable that they wouldn’t get the cure to the problem right.

The politicians we have simply don’t understand or appreciate anywhere near enough about the people, the businesses and the way of the world over which they have responsibility to get any of it genuinely right – that is if they were able to think beyond the benefits of whatever they do for themselves and however anything they do will look.

Doubling down rather than turning around and being big about the mistakes they have made

It would be ridiculous to think that good leaders don’t make mistakes. They do, and they make them often too.

The difference between good leaders and the ones that we have got in Government today is that good leaders accept and learn from their mistakes and are prepared to change course or direction as soon as they do – no matter what anyone or in particular the media says.

We have been burdened at a time of national crisis, with so-called leaders who are obsessed with controlling how everything looks, rather than focusing purely on the robustness, reach and impact of what it is they do.

Even the biggest mistakes that the Government has made during the COVID-19 emergency so far such as the Lockdown and the so-called Financial Support Measures that they followed up with could have had significantly less impact if the Government had changed direction and done a u-turn after they had been announced and gone a different way.

What is clear is that the political class that we have just doesn’t do things that way. They see changing their minds as a sign of weakness and so double down when they are questioned or challenged – no matter what will be the outcome or cost.

Like everything political since spin took over in the days of New Labour and Tony Blair, the politicians we have are obsessed with the words they use rather than their actions, when actions will always speak to us much louder than any of the words.

The ongoing irresponsible use of propaganda.

Propaganda is now being used as the basis for the story rather than the story being used as the basis for the Propaganda itself

Talking up vaccines, antibody tests, contact monitoring, PPE shipments, the Nightingale Hospitals – to name but a few. All of these topics are being used to manipulate and persuade people that the Government has, is and will be doing much more than it actually does.

Whilst it is a poor illustration of the political culture that we have got, its use during ‘normal’ times would be questionable. But its use during a national emergency is knocking on the front door of it being a real crime.

The Government cannot cope with the responsibility that it has because the politicians within it are not of the quality or outlook of the politicians that we as a Country should have at any time, let alone a time of national crisis.

If they were good leaders, they would be able to work with reality as it is and use it to inspire and encourage the people as genuine leadership always will. Instead, they have to use trickery to make us believe that we are being led by a group who know what they are doing and actually have an end game in mind whilst they have the wherewithal required to get there.

Our politicians might not actually be lying to us in the strictest or black and white sense. But they are being very economic and selective with the truths that they are telling us and using them as smokescreens to hide the growing proof that will eventually come out and hurt them – but only after they have caused significant harm to all of us.

It will be all the worse because if they had chosen to come clean and stop spinning everything at any point since the COVID-19 emergency began, their honesty could then have prevented pain and even death from happening for others – instead of for what for them has been all about nothing more than consolidating their position and personal gain.

Letting ‘Experts’ lead a specialist response to a medical emergency and including everyone when a general approach of facilitation was what was needed

One of the worst things of all that this Government has done has been to fall into the trap of believing that so-called experts and specialists are the best people to call on for solutions in a crisis that reflect on everyone, when their experience and knowledge is subjective and the response requires a wholly objective view.

The role of good political leadership is to be very much like a grand facilitator or chairman of sorts, bringing together, discerning and recognising the value that comes from all perspectives and then putting it all together and applying it in a formula or policy that actually works.

The Government has not done that and instead has been swayed by listening to the most obvious voices rather than all of those that should have and should now be being heard.

***

An increasing number of activists, commentators and writers are being vocal about the real depth and breadth of the problems that the Government has caused and is causing, and the realities that people are now facing and will have to face just to exist.

Some are already advocating legal action against the Johnson Government at the end of the COVID-19 emergency – whenever that time should come.

Whilst we might wish them well in the process of getting to the bottom of what was clearly done wrong, it would be much preferable that we do everything to head off as much of the coming catastrophe as can be avoided – rather than waiting until the only thing we have power over is the decision of who to blame.

This means that the UK must now look to doing Government in a very different way.

We cannot continue with politicians of the kind we have left in charge.

A new world is now set to emerge from the era of COVID-19 and the politicians we have are simply not equipped, of the quality or possess the ability that the UK needs to see us through the crisis for the UK that they have created, nor the impact upon us that is coming from the crisis that is set to engulf the entire world.

We cannot wait for the end of the existing Parliamentary cycle before there is the opportunity to replace them, as even then the system is so shut down and closed to new influences it will be impossible to displace their kind.

We need new leadership in the UK now. That new leadership must come from none of the usual suspects, but from people who might be just as skilled and as intelligent, but also care, love others as themselves and above all have the humanity to understand how the world works in different people’s minds as well as within the systems that we can openly see and interpret at work.

When the time comes for that change, those in the Johnson Government will not be forgiven for harm it has caused us that it had the option to avoid.

“Look everyone, we are testing a Vaccine” = Shut up and accept everything we tell you like the ignorant children you are

img_5688

As I watch each and every attempt that the Government makes to convince us that it is in control of the Coronavirus emergency, it becomes clearer and clearer how much they really are not.

In fact, in their attempt to manage this emergency with white elephants like the Nightingale Hospitalsand stunts like the Lockdown and the financial support measures that they followed it with, they have created a complete circus of acts that are damaging the wellbeing of the UK audience daily. Worryingly for us all, they are far from being finished yet.

Believing your own hype when you are in a position of responsibility is a very dangerous thing. These are people who as elected representatives really should know when to stop digging the hole.

But they don’t. And just as things are starting to really become awkward for the Government – as the support for their propaganda to ‘protect the NHS’ diminishes and starts to wear thin – people are starting to see the Lockdown for what it really is. Others are becoming increasingly aware that there really is no structured or coherent plan or strategy in place, and the Government is now falling back on the establishments political playbook to try and regain some semblance of control.

Whilst there is no doubt that the day will come when a vaccine for Coronavirus will be found, we simply have no idea when that day will actually be. There is no test of antibodies available for us either and at present, the Government is only succeeding at completing less than 20,000 tests to confirm that patients have the Virus on any one day when they promised that they would be past the 100,000 mark only a week from now..

Yet all of a sudden, we are being told by the Health Secretary that trials of a Vaccine will begin within days. There are even adverts and links for volunteers to sign up via links on Twitter and get paid.

So let’s pause for a moment and take a breath.

***

Before I say any more, could I ask you how that prospect makes you feel?

***

The chances are that your concerns, frustrations and the questions or demands that you have not yet verbalised loudly about Coronavirus and how the Lockdown is affecting you and the people around you will suddenly have been reframed.

After all, why would you want to rock the boat, moan about anything that the Government is doing or demand that the Lockdown be stopped if the whole thing is already coming to an end?

Regrettably, the Lockdown isn’t coming to an end as it should. But making you think that it now is? – well that’s what a big announcement about Vaccine Testing is surely supposed to do.

Even if the Scientists have already found a Vaccine that has the potential to work, the time it will now take to test it, to be sure it is safe and then to mass produce it so that everyone could be vaccinated against COVID-19 – that’s just the UK – is likely to take many months at least.

Whilst to some in the Government the idea that the whole Country can be kept at a standstill until at least the Autumn might seem plausible. But the true cost of even trying to maintain the Lockdown for a fraction of that time will be so large – not just in economic terms, but the real life issues that it will create for many more than it will ever save – it simply doesn’t even bare thinking about.

We have a Government that is afraid to lead as it should. These Politicians would rather attempt to manipulate and coerce us all into playing along with their weak-minded plans  in the hope that the British People will consent to them remaining in power, simply by going along with whatever it is that they decide to do – however appallingly wrong and damaging it might be.

Politicians are literally playing us all right now by appealing to our better nature, at a time when they should be being honest and straightforward with everyone about how out of their depth they really are. They could be genuine in their aims and outlook – just the same.

The politicians, their advisers, the scientists, the economists, all of them have no historic records, anecdotes, statistics, or other sources of information about a COVID-19 emergency in 2020 UK that tells them what they should or even could do.

This isn’t just about a virus. It’s about everyday life and the different things that are important to us all. Our way of life as a Country. How we do business. How we earn money. What we do to function and to survive.

Yet to hear any one of the Politicians talking, this is all and has ever only been about the medical aspects of the Coronavirus emergency.

It is not. It never was.

Because they have treated it this way, the Government has taken a medical emergency for anyone unfortunate enough to catch Coronavirus and turned it into a life crisis for us all.

There was a different way available to the Government at the start.

There has been a different way available to the Government for all the time since.

There is a different way available to the Government now.

It’s called leadership and it doesn’t involve treating us all like we are kids.

The Johnson Government is high on its own supply of Lockdown and Coronavirus propaganda and completely out of touch with what people beyond the media-baited false populism think

What is clear if you either take the time to talk to other people, or listen to one of the media shows when it has a lucid moment such as the Jeremy Vine Radio 2 Show at lunchtime today, is the Government is falling very short indeed when it comes to providing support for everyone who has lost income from the Lockdown.

Whether they are catered for partially by the measures that have been introduced and the money simply will not gar far enough, or they do not qualify for anything as it stands and have basically fallen down the holes between the different policies, real people living real lives know there are massive problems with what the Government has and hasn’t done in it’s follow-up to the Lockdown.

Yet if you happened to read the messages spread across the media this morning, with polls backing up the Government propaganda that everything is hunky dory with the public view on staying at home, whilst senior Tories were suggesting that the public will be too afraid to do anything when the Lockdown ends, you might wonder just exactly what planet the Johnson Government is currently on.

What you can be certain of is its not the same world as the owners of countless businesses and the thousands upon thousands of employees who work for them who have been left dangling over a cliff by the Government. These are real people living real lives who know that in some cases days, in others weeks or months, the businesses that provide for them will shut down permanently – simply because a Conservative Government imposed the Lockdown without thinking through what they were doing then or what they have been doing since.

It would be comforting to think and believe that this situation is unique at this time of crisis. But we have been here before and recently too.

Yes, we have all seen the impact and consequences of a situation where the Government and the Establishment behind it has fallen into the massive elephant trap of their own making that opens up as soon as they begin to believe their own hype.

Brexit now feels like a distant memory, even though it is still chugging along gently behind the scenes. But in the entire run up the 2016 European Referendum, the Cameron Government and the May Government that immediately followed it bought into the same stories that they were telling everyone. They fell into that trap of being certain that the public simply thought and looked at the world in the same as they did and through a systemic reliance on confirmation bias to make policy decisions didn’t realise just how out of touch with and going against the flow of real feeling for the majority of the public that their approach and policy making had actually become.

So convinced of how correct their own thinking was, even after the result, the Establishment view that the UK should remain in the EU at all costs continued to drive the wrecking-ball approach into the last Parliament and wasn’t halted until the democratic position and view of the British Public on Leaving the EU was finally re-established with the re-Election of the Johnson Government and a working majority at 80-seats strong.

Regrettably, whilst it might seem obvious to some that Boris ‘got it’ when May and Cameron didn’t, the truth is much more likely to be that the Prime Minister saw the opportunity to ride the wave of genuine public opinion after he had seen it zoom past his Westminster window, rather than it ever being about something he personally understood or intrinsically believed.

Boris is not alone either. With a Government constructed of politicians who have in the majority come into politics out of ambition, self-interest and to further their own interests whilst courting the promises of power and glory along the way, it was always and only ever going to be in the time of a real crisis – when history-defining decisions need to be made hourly and not over many days – that the shallow and featherweight nature that underpins the ability and motivation of those would-be big beasts and political heavyweights who lead us would start to quickly become unstuck.

The problem for those of us currently Locked-down in the real world outside of Westminster is that the Government has really started to believe all of the medical advice, statistics, scientific evidence, personal stories and anecdotal information that it and its advisors are putting out and sucking up in a cyclical movement via a media that is and only will be invested in what it can itself spin into the most sensationalist and fear-provoking things.

There is simply no evidence to suggest that there is either critical thinking or even the touch of reality present in decision making that would come from getting out there and talking to real people about how the Lockdown is affecting them thereby informing Government views.

This is a problem for us all.

There is little doubt that all of the Politicians who are wrestling with a job they coveted but responsibilities they never considered they would have, will at some point realise that the Lockdown and Financial Support measures that they put into place didn’t do anything like what they intended they should do. In fact, the whole package of measures was not even in the same book – let alone chapter of the page where most people were left by the impact of the Coronavirus and the Lockdown result.

Whilst the result of the June 2016 Referendum was too late for Remainers to do anything about the result of the situation they themselves made, when this Government and caste of politicians wake up to the depth of the real crisis that the Lockdown is creating at pace this very second, it will be too late for them to even slow the momentum of the downward spiral they have created, let alone turn it around to minimalist the damage as much as the can.

Whether we think of ourselves as individuals, businesses, communities or as part of the Country as a whole, WE ARE ALL GOING TO GET HURT BADLY if the Government doesn’t instigate change.

‘Protect the NHS’, ‘Clap for the NHS heroes’ and ‘Stay at home’ may well be the messages of the false populism that the media has created about the Coronavirus Pandemic today.

But in the days and weeks ahead and as the full horror and nature of the catastrophe this Government has created comes fully into view, people will know for certain that we need a very different type of person in politics to the ones we have got now, who will thrive on being decisive as they lead at any time and especially in the middle of a crisis, rather than being flaky enough to big themselves up as leaders when it is they who are the ones who are being led.
