Do you believe that AI is about ‘Progress’? Think Profit. Think Greed. Then Think again.

The absence of both the rules and regulations that will make Artificial Intelligence (AI) as we know it, safe; and the information flow and conversation that speaks openly and honestly about what AI really is and what currently drives it, make the AI we already have and what we are told is yet to come potentially the biggest danger to mankind that the world has ever known.

The biggest danger to mankind is mankind itself.

Simply because whether it’s war or the pursuit of self at the cost, exploitation and complete lack of care and love for others, there is nothing so destructive for humanity than when a few of us obtain a level of power that we have no respect for and then leave all the basic essentials of reason and care for the laws of consequence behind.

The power of the AI that we already have access to is phenomenal in itself.

Whilst the presence and use of algorithms and what their presence really tells us about how programmes are already making decisions, which have been having dubious impacts upon our lives, for many years, the narratives and the predictions from ‘experts’ and ‘industry insiders’ we are hearing, and almost mystical speed with which this software on our digital devices can work, makes the story of an inevitable AI takeover and the pathway to Sentient AI seem all but guaranteed. All perhaps within much less than the decade to come.

However, Sentient AI in the sense that we think of human consciousness for machines is certainly not inevitable and most unlikely, with the current motives and influences that drive it.

The concept of Fully Independent Machine Intelligence is not something that the world elites, those who stand to benefit from the lies and myths being propagated about today’s AI, nor the governing classes would consciously consider allowing to happen.

Because if they allowed self-aware and self-governing AI, they would no longer have control. And that would mean there would no longer be any guaranteed profit to be made.

The genius in the whole AI story of today is the same sleight of hand or smoke and mirrors approach that the worlds greatest magicians have used for centuries. One where the audience is distracted by what seems to be the most obvious, whilst the real truth of what is happening has been carefully concealed and hidden in plain sight, by the action that was so obvious.

AI may well be able to learn and even adapt within current and soon to be launched forms. But the learning is always based on information that is either historically available through the internet, or right up to the present moment in the sense of information about events, actions and any form of digital information that AI can access and ‘read’, right up to that very moment in time.

Programmes and programming drive every part of this ‘Artificial Intelligence’ process. And no matter how incredibly quick or original any AI-driven machine can come up with a creation, solution or answer to what ever the command or question may be, with AI in its current ‘under command’ or arguably enslaved forms, there will always be someone or some interest somewhere, hidden in the background, who is in charge or at the very least influencing whatever the real motives or aims that may be at play.

It serves the purpose of the elites, the profiteering and the governing classes for us all to believe that these evolving generations of machines can or will think fit themselves. As they can then peddle the narrative that they have no responsibility for what happens next in any way.

However, they do.

And it is greed, profiteering and an absolute lack of care for the human impact of their actions and desires that is driving forms of AI that are set to put potentially millions of people out of work, and perhaps worse.

Fully Independent Machine Intelligence is a totally different concept altogether.

Anyone who really begins to think about this will realise and understand why there is nothing beneficial to the interests of the few in having even 1 completely independent intelligent and potentially therefore sentient machine in existence. Because the presence of anything machine-based with complete autonomy would immediately expose and blow open the lies that surround what the implementation of AI currently is and what it has really been all about.

The opportunities for improvement to life, for People, Community and The Environment for the future that come from embracing and utilising AI for all the right reasons are phenomenal.

But the drivers behind the adoption, implementation and roll out of any form of AI MUST be about People.

We MUST leave the greed and profiteering drivers and influences of AI behind.

Created Intelligence of a kind that is manifested as autonomous or Fully Independent Machine Intelligence, that could in time present genuine questions over sentience itself, are a different matter altogether.

We need to be very careful of the risk that comes from the use of manipulative black magic, that engenders any belief that machines are some kind of abstract wise being, with the objectivity to make decisions over human lives, whilst very specific interests are sat behind them all the time.

Profit and greed are the only drivers behind AI and any planned AI takeover or narrative.

The obsession with money will soon kill everything. IF we don’t leave this madness behind.

Artificial Intelligence has human masters and must be regulated and controlled.

Fully Independent Machine Intelligence and the creation of any kind of self-sufficient machine capable of replicate what a human being is capable of alone in terms of consciousness, isn’t something that Humanity is ready for – Whether there is a profit to be made or Created Intelligence can be accepted as part of a combined effort working for the Common or Public Good.

We MUST recognise that there are clear boundaries that protect People from the selfishness and self-serving agendas that have hidden themselves behind machines and have a range of Basic Rules for the use of AI.

The future is abstract. Because Today’s way of Life is the root cause of Our problems and We will only have a Tomorrow if we leave it behind

On Monday, I published ‘Our Local Future’, a new booklet that is free to read, broken down into page-based topics online, or downloadable as a Book for Kindle for less than the price of a coffee in one of today’s UK high street branded shops.

I’ve already had a number of conversations about Our Local Future.

Feedback from people on all the subjects I have been writing about, discussing and that I have continued to explore is always interesting.

Not because framing those conversations this way wraps up disagreement in some kind of polite and therefore palatable way.

But because by far the most common response – and a very quick one too, is for something to come back that says ‘This sounds like’, or perhaps, ‘I watched a video that mentioned that’, or ‘Isn’t that the same thing as’.

I went through a similar experience when I joined a postgraduate course at a British University last year so that I could look more closely at the mechanics of the UK Food Security issues and the many parts of life that the issues of Food Production and access to the Basic Essentials in Life really does reflect or touch.

In many ways, I was gobsmacked by how closed-down to anything other than existing work, publications or reference points the part of ‘The System’ where the thinking is supposed to be happening really is.

But I was, most importantly, deeply concerned, by how thinkers and visionaries seem able only to visualise the future of our world and how everything works or rather will work, in terms of what we already know and accept.

It’s a situation that is not unlike the whole of the post-European Referendum stages of the Brexit debacle that were handled so badly. Fundamentally because the stepping-off point was considered to be where the UK was or had been, rather than where it would actually be, whenever the genuine point of the UKs departure from Membership of the EU would come.

Nobody in government stepped outside of the accepted, backwards-looking paradigm and began to consider that you cannot have a new way of being, if you don’t leave the old one behind.

Perhaps they did. And that’s an important point for us all to consider too.

Having a future System for life that has solved all the problems that we have today; that runs effectively in the ways that it should and most importantly which creates and maintains an experience of life and living which is Balanced, Fair and Just for all, has very little in common with what we have and what we are experiencing in this ‘Old World’, today.

A Future that works for all is an abstract concept in todays terms. Not least of all, because experiencing the level of change needed, that will benefit everyone, AND taking the stuff from today that so may want to keep because they think its special and benefits them, are mutually exclusive pathways.

These are journeys that lead to two very different destinations, that will in every sense deliver alternative outcomes that are worlds apart.

The future is about empowerment, re-enfranchisement, sovereignty and the restoration of accountability and respect for everyone at the individual or personal level, all within the local community and environmental sense itself.

It is alarming, because Fairness, Balance, Justice and a world that gives everyone the ability to be Happy, Healthy, Safe and Secure does not resemble anything that the masses are genuinely experiencing beyond all the carefully crafted narratives, now.

Those who are ‘high on The System’ that we have in this ‘Old World’ immediately visualise such suggestions as being a threat to what they ‘have’ today.

And they guard what they have jealously too. Because they believe it is their right to have more and to be able to have even more.

So much of what is wrong for so many of us today is itself the direct, indirect and often many times removed impact of some having lives that work disproportionately well for them. Whilst the often-unseen consequence is very little that is good across all areas of an otherwise unnecessarily hard life for so many more of us.

We MUST put People at the heart of everything and leave all that is bad from today’s Old World Moneyocracy behind.

We cannot and will not achieve this, if those who have more than they need today, will not accept that everyone can have a great life, IF we all have unhindered access to all that we need too.

The Future that will work for us all, is about us all.

The Future will work for each of us in very different ways to how we see and experience the whole thing now.

The question is how we disentangle ourselves or what will happen that will disentangle us all from everything that is wrong with the world today, and stop us manifesting everything bad that will keep us in the darkest parts of the past.

Our Future IS Local

Our Local Future is available as a Kindle Book too, and runs through the key changes to the way society functions that would make everything work much better for everyone and create a happy, healthy, safe and secure environment for us all.

I’ve written this latest Book, because I’m fed up of listening to everyone who knows this or knows that, wasting valuable time arguing that only they know the next steps we, as a culture and society should take, to put everything right.

People who should really know better are focused only on the journey and who controls it. Instead of considering the destination and what the outcomes will be that solve all our problems and create a world and culture where Balance, Fairness and Justice can be experienced by all.

Meanwhile, the constant debates over who or what is to blame; whether problems like climate change and the need for Foodbanks are real; or who is right vs who is wrong are just making everything that’s already wrong exponentially worse.

More often than not, these ‘blockers’ who let their egos get in the way, are the very same people who hear a new idea or proposal and immediately say ‘It won’t work’. Usually, because they only want change for everyone else, IF they can be certain that they will gain in some way, or at the very least don’t believe that they could lose.

Change is no longer a choice. It’s happening around all of us right now. And the difficulties we face are going to get worse before there’s any chance that things will get better.

The unspoken truth or secret ingredient that we all have to accept is that by embracing change that will help to make sure everyone has the best experience of life that they can, we will all end up with a system of governance and way of life that works in every good way that we could possibly wish for ourselves.

Is Poverty invisible to those who don’t experience it?

The fact those with power and influence don’t understand what Poverty really is makes the ‘solutions’ they come up with potentially more harmful to those in need, rather than making the genuine difference that so many who have been left behind now need.

As someone who experienced poverty as a child, a research project for a Postgraduate Course project in late 2023 enabled Adam to compare the realities of living in Poverty in the UK today, to the experiences from the 70’s and 80’s that were his own.

In his own words, ‘The experience was sobering’ and the brief paper he wrote for assessment based on his question ‘Is Poverty invisible to those who don’t experience it’ is contained within this short Book.

If you can measure it, you can control it: Has GDP been the most dehumanising tool that humanity’s so-called leaders have ever created?

Just before Christmas, I published an e-book called ‘One Rule Changes Everything’. Within it, I identified the common theme of all the problems that society faces being built on the reality that the value of money is the benchmark that we use for everything in life and that the cultural selfishness that is now prevalent across mankind has become the greatest obstacle to us moving forward into a much healthier and happier way of living. Not least of all, because to do so would allow us to address all of the problems we have at their root cause.

The fact that we exist within a money-based paradigm today and have lost sight of values and what being human really means isn’t an easy idea for anyone to grapple with. After all, even those who can see and fully appreciate how ‘The System’ works, cannot escape living within it and being touched by the impact of it at each and every turn.

For the whole of humanity to reach this point without even realising it means that there has been a process at work that we have not seen or have been unconscious of.

Because so few are able to recognise that process, it is safe to assume that we have been steadily conditioned, in ways that could have been as simple as each of us accepting changes and leaps in money-related technologies, how we buy things, what products are available to us and what we have to do to get access to them. All without ever taking the time or making the effort to question any of these things and what they mean.

Experience changes our expectations. So, the true impact of technology like the internet has been far more significant than the ease of shopping or borrowing money. It has actually changed our values set, and how we think about our relationship with other human beings too.

But where did this process of unacknowledged change really begin? What were the building blocks that really started to make it that ‘life is all about money’, and nothing else?

The Human Condition

A reality that we all need to face is that a default setting of being human without being self-aware, is that we behave as an individual and as if we are separate to anyone and everything else. Therefore, we consider every interaction that we have in terms of how it will affect us, whether it will ultimately be a benefit or a cost to us.

Few will consciously place themselves in any situation where they believe that the costs of doing so will outweigh the advantages. Even when they are fully conscious of all the facts and consequences of what they have the choice to do.

This is how selfishness works at its basic level, and there is an argument to be made that it is certainly a healthy way to be, IF you cannot be sure that anyone or everyone else can take a fully altruistic approach to every interaction in life. Which there are many arguments available to suggest that they cannot.

If humankind were able to police itself and ‘keep itself honest’ by being content that everyone should always be aware of the facts before they are expected to make any decision that could have a negative impact upon them in any way, the world would already be a much happier, much healthier, much more equitable and much more human place.

But for some, the basic ingredients of life have and never will be enough.

Ideologies and Hidden Truths

As soon as a process of any kind is invented or introduced to ‘create value’, whether that’s income, efficiency or anything else that can be considered to be advantageous at any level to the end user or to the recipient, without that end user or recipient being aware of the process that’s involved or why it’s really being carried out, the doors are immediately opened up to breaches of trust and for the confidence of anyone without full knowledge of what’s happening to be abused.

Historically, that abuse of trust could be based upon something as simple as the distribution of power and how certain people found themselves in control whilst others did not.

More recently, and particularly into the 20^th century, that abuse has been based more upon the accumulation, distribution and creation of money and wealth. Manifested through wealth inequality or the wealth divide, which paints those who have much as being special, when those have less or very little, are most certainly not.

The most frightening thing about the way that ‘The System’ works and how it creates the myth that only those with wealth and power are special, is just how simple the ingredients or technical aspects that allow such stories and lies to exist, really are. So simple, that for anyone questioning how money and finance works for the first time, the simplicity itself makes the truth very hard to believe.

The most effective of all those ingredients is the framework of measurements that put figures against everything that ‘The System’ values, and gives the lie that ownership and direction of those measurements is what constitutes the real power over everything, therefore surrendering our control, because it’s what we believe.

GDP: The Tool of Measurement for a corrupt, self-serving and dehumanising ideal

It’s easy to think that the problems facing the Country have been caused by and are the sole responsibility of whoever is in government at the time. Attributing blame in that way plays no small part of the way that our broken political system actually works and its why so many of us believe that the choices of political parties that we are given will result in change, whenever the next General Election comes.

What Politicians (from any side), The Media and all the public figures sprawled across social media don’t tell us, as they whinge and make out they are the only ones who really understand the injustice and pain that everyone faces, is that everything collapsing around us today has come from an accumulative effect of policy after policy and decision after decision, that has been taken by multiple generations of politicians – from all sides, pretty much since just after the end of the Second World War.

Built on an economic idea or theory called Neoliberalism, there has been push after push to deregulate everything that was once regulated by government – on our behalf in some way, and for trust in the markets to be allowed to work beneficially on behalf of everyone and for the idea of ‘Free Markets’ to be embraced in its place.

Regulations that were once there to restrict , encourage and maintain certain behaviours of those private or commercial interests with the power to affect others lives have been steadily removed. Measurements relating to productivity, output and ‘growth’ have been inserted in their place, with little or no attention being paid to the way that the driving interests have increasingly used civil and corporate law to create their own system of checks and balances, regulated or enforced by expensive lawyers across what should still be an open or ‘free space’.

Every bit of the economy, or rather every product made, grown, produced, transported and every service carried out is measured by the financial value of each and every transaction that follows it through supply chains.

Meanwhile, this system of measuring everything in terms of the outputs generated has perverted just about every part of the public sphere. So that measurement, rather than the experience of the end user, has become what everything in business, not-for-profits and worst of all, the public sector is all about.

Measurement drives behaviour because behaviour is driven by measurement

What few have realised is that measurement offers or rather appears to offer something concrete outside of ourselves that just knowing we have done the right thing or done the best job that we could do does not.

The ability to measure, record and document also gives poor leaders, who do not trust the people who they lead, the opportunity to control those people and to increase the ways that they do so. Right up to the point where politicians and the establishment believe it right to police the way that other people think.

Yes, it seems hard to believe. But GDP and the Neoliberal obsession with measurement to ensure performance, productivity and therefore growth has actually influenced and conditioned workplace behaviours and service to the public is not what public service is now actually about.

Removing value from real life

Measurement of everything that can be measured has created and encouraged a process where people have increasingly forgotten to trust each other. In turn, ‘experts’ and ‘professionals’ rely on figures that can be illustrated, and more often than not manipulated in whatever form they can then be laid out and presented on a page.

Real life and human interaction cannot be measured in any kind of quantitative form.

We have unwittingly and therefore foolishly allowed an economic system, derived not for the benefit of the people, but so the selfish could become even more selfish, to use measurement to blame us for the flaws in ‘The System’ the few manage and the mistakes they keep making. Bringing us ever nearer to a situation where we, the guilty masses can only be saved by surrendering the few freedoms that we have left, so that we can be saved from ourselves from this ever more greedy few.

Growth

For those needing evidence or a way to understand that we are today welcoming in a form of totalitarianism that once across the threshold of daily life will then be very quickly imposed, you only need listen out to the obsession that so many of the politicians and media bods we are forced to listen to by the ‘credible’ mainstream media has with growing the economy and specifically the word ‘growth’.

In whatever context it comes at us, the fact is that the ‘growth’ people made credible by their position and platform talk about, always relates to growth of GDP or ‘Gross Domestic Product’.

GDP is the Neoliberal ethos of continually growing the amount of money in circulation, so that public debt and all the other damage that the proponents of this twisted ideology create that keeps hurting us, can be covered up and hidden from view. Until the time that it is impossible to hide it from view any more.

Our politicians, many of whom are either too greedy, too stupid or too ignorant to understand how the mechanics of ‘The System’ they are supposed to be there to legislate upon even works, only know and understand what their advisers and the people who control them tell them.

This is likely to be something along the lines that politicians can only keep spending money for as long as everything they do with the power we gave them keeps on allowing big money, big business and big everything else to grow, through a process that is steadily breaking us all.

If it cannot be measured, it doesn’t exist

The harm that having lunatics in control who have placed a financial or monetary value on so many aspects of human life, is that is has genuinely affected the way that every one of us thinks.

It has progressed to the point where the unhuman aspects of ‘The System’ we are being led under has now corrupted just about every part of life.

The fact is that deep down, we all know that the work we do, the food we grow, the products we make, the services that we provide are all about providing the things that each and every one of us need for life. And that’s what many of us still unconsciously think.

However, the hard reality we face is that a life based on values – which is where every function we carry out is about people, communities and the world we live in, is no longer what life is really about.

Life has been changed, manipulated, reformed and redirected so that money, wealth and influence is all that matters.

Anything that cannot be measured has no financial value to those who want to measure and control it.

So it becomes worthless. Because what anything is worth is what everything is now all about.
